ACT Now

This second bulletin is published during the first week of November 2021 at the start of COP26, the most important event for the planet and humanity.

It is vital that governments across the world agree to urgent and binding action to reduce carbon emissions in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement to ensure that global temperatures do not increase by more than 2°C, preferably no more than 1.5°C.

Tragically, current analysis of existing government commitments indicates that without urgent action we are heading for an increase of 2.7°C by 2100. This would be catastrophic for all life on Earth.

Many governments have indicated their commitment to ‘ACT Now’ in line with the Paris Agreement. Others may not. It is vital that citizens across the world continue to advocate for and support measures to keep global warming to a rise of 1.5°C.
